For example, if you create great content on your YouTube channel, it can be repurposed into valuable content and linked to from other places on your website. 

If you add useful captions or descriptions to your videos, they can be used as well.

And now that Google owns YouTube, these opportunities are only going to get better.

#1 Google+: One important way to build a backlink is to sign up for Google Plus and get people to follow your profile. 

When they do, their accounts will automatically follow yours as well, giving you one more link from them (and maybe even some social media traffic).
